What should you pay attention to when buying a new doormat?
When buying a new doormat, it is important to pay attention to several things.
- First of all, the correct dimensions are important. Always measure the place where the mat is to be placed at several points.
- Also pay special attention to the height of the doormat and the type of floor you have.
- Before purchasing your new doormat, ask yourself wich type of mat you need. Do you need a mat to absorba lot of moisture or to absorb a lot of dirt?
- Will the mat be placed outside? Then choose one of our outdoor mats.
- Will the mat be placed in a recess? Then definitely do not choose a mat with an edge finish all around, but always a mat without an edge finish.
What is the difference between a drying mat and a cleaning mat?
The difference between a dry-walk mat and a dirt-trapping mat is in the way the mat works. With a dry-walk mat, the focus of the mat is more on drying the soles of the shoes through the softer fibers, while a dirt-trapping mat is more focused on cleaning the soles of the shoes through the use of somewhat harder fibers. So it is not the case that a dry-walk mat cannot absorb dirt and a dirt-trapping mat cannot absorb moisture at all.

How much does a custom doormat cost?
How big should the doormat be?
Your new doormat can be as big or small as you want. You determine the size of your new doormat. To prevent the doormat from being too big or too small (which is especially a shame for a doormat that is sunken), it is important to measure the dimensions correctly. In order to be able to dry and clean the soles of your shoes properly, we recommend a size of at least 60 x 95 cm.

Start with your floor. If the mat will lie directly on a PVC or cast floor, always choose a doormat without plasticizers. Specially made to be safe for these floors, without compromising on quality.
Next, think about what you want the mat to do. Mainly keep rain and melted snow out of your hallway? A custom-made absorber mat is built exactly for that job.
Placing your doormat in a recess? Then pay close attention to its height. A mat that’s too thick spoils the look, but a mat that’s a few millimeters too thin is just as noticeable. Fortunately, that’s easily solved with a padding mat.
