Custom built in floor mat

Your floor mat lies directly on the floor, or recessed.
This is also called a recessed floor mat.
You find this floor mat on a crawlspace door, for example.
The correct size of the floor mat is then of course important, but the thickness of the doormat also plays a role.
With a floor mat that is too thick or high, your door opens awkwardly, but a floor mat that is too thin is lower than your floor.
This is not aesthetically pleasing.
You can easily bridge the difference in millimeters by using a rubber cushioning mat.
The cushioning mat is available in different thicknesses and you place it under your custom built-in floor mat.

Maintenance of a custom floor mat

In addition to the beautiful look of the floor mat, the mat is also easy to maintain.
By regularly vacuuming the mat, you prolong its life and the custom-made floor mat will always look neat.
In addition, you can easily remove stains from the mat using lukewarm water with a capful of green soap.
After that, do let the custom floor mat dry thoroughly.
Most dry walking mats are even washable.

What to look for when buying a new floor mat

You may not think of it right away, but do you have a PVC or cast floor and will the mat lay directly on the floor?
If so, not all floor mats are suitable.
Preferably choose a plasticizer-free floor mat.
These floor mats are free of harmful phthalates (but not 100% free of plasticizers).
This prevents permanent discoloration on your (new) floor.
Our plasticizer-free floor mats have a black rubber edge.
This gives the floor mat a more robust appearance.
In addition, you can consider whether you prefer a dry or a clean walking mat.
A dry walking mat primarily absorbs moisture, while a clean walking mat primarily has a dirt-scraping function.
